TrackBadges vs Jibble
Choose TrackBadges if a supervisor clocks in crews across sites, you want printed badges for everyone in one click, and you'd rather nobody install an app — including on the scanner. Choose Jibble if you run one site with one kiosk and want to pay nothing for unlimited users, or you need project tracking, PTO and face recognition in one app.
The short answer
TrackBadges is a QR badge time clock: a supervisor scans each employee's printed badge with any phone, so the crew needs no app or smartphone. Jibble is a time and attendance app with a large free plan: employees clock in on the Jibble mobile app, or at a shared device running Jibble's kiosk app with face recognition, NFC, PIN or QR codes.
TrackBadges vs Jibble at a glance
| TrackBadges | Jibble | |
|---|---|---|
| How employees clock in | A supervisor (or a shared tablet) scans each employee's printed QR badge. Scan once to clock in, again to clock out. | In the Jibble app on the employee's phone (with GPS and selfies), or at a shared iOS/Android device running the Jibble kiosk app in one mode: face, NFC, PIN, name list or QR scanner. |
| Does each employee need a smartphone? | No. Employees carry a printed badge. | Not if you use the kiosk: employees can clock in at a shared device. Each employee's personal QR code lives in the Jibble app, though; admins download codes one person at a time as PDFs. |
| QR codes | Every employee gets a printed QR badge. | Yes, since 2026: a kiosk in QR Scanner mode reads each member's personal QR code. Per Jibble's help center, QR mode doesn't support breaks, project selection, PIN confirmation or geofencing. |
| One supervisor clocks in a crew | Yes — it's how it works. One phone clocks in the whole crew. | Not as a supervisor workflow. Employees scan their own code or face at the kiosk. |
| Hardware | None. Any phone or tablet; badges print on paper. | None to buy, but the kiosk needs the native Jibble app installed on an iPhone, iPad or Android device (or the desktop kiosk app). |
| Free plan | Free for up to 3 people, with every feature. | Free for unlimited users, with 1 kiosk, 2 locations and 1 admin. |
| Pricing | Free for up to 3 people. Pro is $9 a month for your first 3 people, plus $1.50 a month for each person after that. | Jibble no longer publishes prices on its site. Third-party reviews in 2026 list paid tiers from $3.49 to $10.99 per user a month billed monthly ($1.99–$7.99 billed annually). Unlimited kiosks need the Growth tier. |
| Monthly cost, 10 people | $19.50/mo | $59.90/mo |
| Monthly cost, 25 people | $42/mo | $149.75/mo |
| Monthly cost, 50 people | $79.50/mo | $299.50/mo |
Jibble costs use Growth at $5.99 per user, billed monthly — the cheapest tier with more than one kiosk (Jibble's prices are from third-party captures, since Jibble doesn't publish them); a single-site crew with one kiosk can use the Free plan. TrackBadges is billed monthly. Prices were checked in October 2026 and change, so check Jibble's site before you buy.

The biggest difference: who holds the phone
Jibble is built around the employee: most people clock in on the Jibble app on their own phone, and a kiosk is a shared device running that same app. TrackBadges is built around the supervisor: every employee carries a printed QR badge, and whoever runs the crew scans it with any phone's browser.
That matters most for crews where some people don't have smartphones, won't put a work app on them, or can't have phones on the floor. With Jibble those people need the kiosk. With TrackBadges they need a badge.
QR codes: a feature vs the whole product
Jibble added a QR Scanner kiosk mode in 2026. Each member gets a code in the Jibble app, and admins can download a member's code as a PDF. Jibble's help center notes that QR mode doesn't support breaks, activity or project selection, PIN confirmation or geofencing.
In TrackBadges the QR badge is the product. You print badges for your whole crew at once (eight to a page), reissue a lost one in a click, and fall back to a PIN on the scanner. Any phone or tablet becomes a scanner by opening a one-time setup link — no app to install or sign in to.
Setting up a scanner
| Step | TrackBadges | Jibble |
|---|---|---|
| Install | Nothing — open a setup link in the browser | Install the Jibble app on each kiosk device |
| Sign in | No account on the scanner | Log in as an owner, admin or manager |
| Lock it down | Optional | Guided Access recommended on iOS |
| Badges | Print everyone at once | Download each member's QR code as a PDF |
| More scanners | Unlimited on every plan | One kiosk on Free; unlimited on Growth |
Price
Jibble's free plan is generous: unlimited users with one kiosk and two locations. If that covers you, it costs nothing. Most crews that move between job sites need more than one kiosk, which means a per-user tier — Growth is $5.99 per user a month billed monthly, according to third-party reviews, because Jibble no longer publishes prices. TrackBadges is free for 3 people, then $9 a month plus $1.50 per person, with unlimited scanners and locations on every plan.
Jibble: what it does well, and where it falls short
Strengths
- A genuinely large free plan: unlimited users with one kiosk and two locations.
- Many clock-in methods: app with GPS, face recognition, NFC, PIN and QR kiosks.
- Broad feature set: projects and activities, PTO, scheduling and integrations on paid tiers.
- Offline mode and GPS options in the app.
Drawbacks
- The kiosk runs only in Jibble's native app, so every scanning device needs the app installed and signed in.
- QR codes are a recent kiosk mode with limits (no breaks, projects or geofencing in that mode) and no bulk badge printing in the docs.
- Public reviews often mention unreliable face recognition in poor light and confusing kiosk setup.
- Pricing isn't published, and tiers were raised and renamed in 2026.
