TrackBadges vs Workyard

The short answer
TrackBadges is a QR badge time clock: a supervisor scans each employee's printed badge with any phone, so the crew needs no app or smartphone. Workyard is a GPS time tracking and job costing app for construction and field service, with supervisor-led crew clock-in and an iPad kiosk on higher tiers.

Supervisor clock-in, two ways
Workyard's Starter plan includes supervisor-led time tracking: a foreman clocks in the crew from the Workyard app. TrackBadges does the same job with a printed QR badge for each worker, scanned by the foreman's phone in the browser — nothing to install, and every scan confirms the worker is there.
GPS tracking vs a GPS stamp
Workyard is built around GPS: it verifies where workers are through the day, which is useful for job costing and for crews spread across sites. TrackBadges records which scanner and location each punch came from and can stamp the scan's GPS position — but it doesn't track anyone between scans. That's lighter on phones and on privacy, and it's all most crews that start and finish together need.
| TrackBadges | Workyard Starter | |
|---|---|---|
| Crew clock-in | Supervisor scans badges | Supervisor-led tracking |
| Tracking between punches | None | GPS |
| Job costing | No (locations only) | Yes |
| Kiosk | Any phone or tablet, every plan | iPad, Pro plan |
| Billing | Monthly | $6/user published for annual billing |
